I immigrated to Canada in 2013 from Russia and work as a Commercial Property Management Representative. My job involves a lot of face to face and phone communication. Before taking ACE Training, I was reluctant to speak, which made it difficult to socialize and meet new people. I avoided small talk and any unnecessary conversations.
I like how ACE Training was structured. The materials (print & audio) were very helpful and we covered one topic at a time. I saw my pronunciation improve bit by bit. Surprisingly, not only did my pronunciation improve, but I began to understand other people better. After taking ACE Training, I was assigned to present two webinars to Husky vendors. I consider this assignment a recognition of my achievements by management!

I strongly believe that you can’t get better at something if you don’t know what you need to improve. For me, ACE Training was an eye opener. I learned basic pronunciation rules, stress patterns and reduced sounds and words that significantly improved my pronunciation! I arrived in Canada twelve years ago from Ecuador, my mother language is Spanish. I’m a Civil Engineer with a master’s degree in project management.
Canada is the land of opportunities and as such, I had great opportunities to work in my field these past twelve years and develop an exciting career. As my career progressed, I was promoted to managerial roles. In these roles, the importance to clearly communicate ideas verbally was a very important requirement. That is when I decided to participate in ACE Training. All the training material were easy to follow and engaging; it is intuitive and easy use.
My colleagues soon noticed the changes in my pronunciation, it was easier for them to understand me when I was presenting new ideas or reports. I feel much more confident when speaking in public. I have knowledge of general pronunciation rules and can identify the areas that I need to work on more, to ensure that I’m clearly understood.

As a Colombian immigrant living in Canada for 8 years, I still found myself struggling during meetings and presentations. Lisa is a great teacher, very creative -classes are very entertaining. She is dedicated and focused on my targets. She not only helped me to improve my English pronunciation with her course material, she shared other resources to help me reach my goals. She was also looking over my grammar, and as a bonus, I’ve increased my vocabulary.
At the beginning, it was very helpful to identify what I was doing wrong and learn why I saw hesitant faces when I was talking (you know, when people are trying to guess what you are saying). I found learning about stress patterns very impactful in reducing my Latino accent. After completing the ACE Training course, I feel more confident to speak up in meetings.
